What is PAUL! a musical?
PAUL! is the brain-child or Towson University Senior Acting major Michael Perrie Jr. who began writing PAUL! the summer of 2009. The idea had lingered in his head for years; What if your life became a musical? The story follows Paul (an average guy living in New York City) who wakes up one morning to find his life has become, quite suddenly, a musical. Eventually, Paul meets a young woman named Beth (an average girl, who has lived in her musical for a year now) and they fall in love. Together they travel through the city trying to find the answers to: Where does the music come from, and how can we make it stop?
In essence; PAUL! is a One Act musical in two acts set to a contemporary piano score, whose witty script and lyrics are sure to please any audience! PAUL! challenges the sanity of our world, and the self-awareness of the people living in it.
